What We Do

Virtual Decisions Programme

Step into the moment where choices matter most. Linx: Virtual Decisions is an innovative, immersive Virtual Reality programme designed to challenge, support and inspire young people to make safer, more positive decisions in their everyday lives.

Thanks to funding from the Better Youth Spaces (BYS) programme, Linx Youth Project has enhanced its provision through new VR equipment – bringing cutting-edge, interactive experiences directly to young people across our community. This investment is creating exciting opportunities for young people in Middlesbrough to engage in meaningful, impactful learning in a safe and supportive environment.

Using this technology, participants are placed inside realistic, high-pressure scenarios where their choices directly shape what happens next. With multiple decision points and hundreds of possible storylines, young people experience the consequences of their actions in a safe, controlled environment – bringing learning to life in a way traditional approaches cannot.

We offer two targeted programme pathways:

Knife Crime Awareness – exploring the real risks of carrying a weapon, how quickly situations can escalate, and the serious impact on individuals, families and communities.

Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness – helping young people understand escalation, peer pressure, and the wider consequences of their actions on their future and community.

Each VR experience is followed by structured, youth worker-led sessions that deepen understanding through reflection, discussion and real-life context – supporting young people to think critically and make informed choices.

Our aims are to:

  • Increase awareness of risk and consequences
  • Challenge attitudes and behaviours
  • Build confidence to resist negative influences
  • Develop stronger decision-making skills

Delivered by trusted youth workers, Linx: Virtual Decisions creates meaningful, lasting impact -helping young people build resilience, make safer choices, and contribute to stronger, safer communities.

Better Youth Spaces is a £30.5m Government fund supporting youth work across England, administered by the Social Investment Business. This funding is helping create safer, more engaging environments and expanding opportunities for young people to access enriching, life-changing experiences—like Linx: Virtual Decisions.
